Credits
No AI key needed any more: sign in and play. One credit is one turn, every account starts with 50 free, and your own key or Claude Code still works for free.
Worldtable now runs on credits. You don't need an AI key, an OpenRouter account, or anything else set up to build a world or play in one. Sign in, and you have credits to spend.
How it works
- One credit is one turn, in any world, with the same wallet everywhere.
- Some things cost a little more: voice on a turn is 1 more, a picture is 2, a message to Hob is 1, and drafting a new world is 10. The full list is on the Credits page.
- Players pay for their own turns. If you build a world, your players' turns come out of their wallets, not yours. You spend your own credits on building.
- Failures are free. A turn the world never answers is given back, and so is a picture that fails to paint. Replaying narration you've already heard costs nothing.
- Your balance is in the corner. A small chip in the header shows what you have left, and the Credits page shows where every credit went.
What you start with
- 50 free credits for every account, old and new. That's a first world draft and about forty turns, or about fifty turns if you only play.
- If you had starter credit, whatever was left on it has been turned into credits on top. The old $1 starter keys are switched off.
Getting more
- Packs: 200 credits for $5, 450 for $10, 1,000 for $20. Bought credits never expire.
- Adventurer: 650 credits every month for $12, the cheapest way to play. Unused ones carry over for a month (you can hold up to 1,300), and they're spent before any you've bought. Cancel any time from the Credits page.
- Payments go through Stripe. We never see your card.
Your own AI still works
- Bring your own key (OpenRouter or any OpenAI-compatible provider) and your world runs on it: nobody spends credits there, and you choose its model.
- Your own Claude Code or Codex can still tell the story in a private world, for free.
- Worlds on credits use Worldtable's default models. Choosing a different model now takes your own key, because a turn on credits always costs one credit and some models cost us several times more.
Updated terms
The Terms and Privacy Policy have a new section on credits and payments, so you'll be asked to accept them again. The short version: ask within 14 days and we'll refund a purchase, minus anything you've spent from it, and if Worldtable ever shuts down we'll give 30 days' notice and refund the credits you bought and haven't used.
