Games While You Wait

Fish, play Liar's Dice or Knucklebones against the tavern regulars, or match relics while the world writes your turn.

While the world writes your next turn, there's now something better to do than watch it think. Four small games sit under the story while a turn loads: go fishing, play Liar's Dice or Knucklebones against the tavern regulars, or match relics. Each game is saved as you play, so the next wait picks up where you left off.

Fishing

  • Tap the water to cast. Watch the float, ignore the nibbles, and tap when it goes under.
  • Hold to reel, let go when it runs. Keep reeling while the fish pulls and the line snaps. Leave it slack too long and it shakes the hook.
  • Twelve catches to find, from silver dace and mud carp to a sunken locket and Old Whiskers, the catfish older than the dock. Some only bite at dawn, at dusk or after dark, going by your own clock.
  • The logbook keeps every catch and your heaviest of each. What you haven't caught yet shows as a silhouette, with a hint.
Reeling in: hold to bring it closer, ease off when it runs

Liar's Dice

  • You and two regulars each have dice under a cup. Bid on how many of a number are on the whole table, ones are wild, and every bid has to go higher.
  • Think someone is lying? Call Liar! and every cup lifts. Whoever was wrong loses a die. The last cup with dice wins.
  • The regulars play differently. Brother Oswy is careful, Mags Tarrow bluffs loudly, and Old Hakkon counts every die.

Knucklebones

  • Roll a die and place it in one of your three lanes. Matching dice multiply: two 4s score 16, three score 36.
  • Every die you place knocks the same number out of your opponent's lane across from it. Fill all nine places and the higher total wins.

Relic Pairs

  • The one game kept from before. Turn tiles two at a time and find the six pairs. Your fewest turns to clear a vault is kept as your best.

Good to know

  • Don't know a game? Tap the ? in the panel and it explains the game you have open, step by step.
  • Rather just read? The arrow on the right folds the panel away, and it stays folded until you open it again.
  • Your games, logbook and wins against each regular are saved on the device you play on.
