Seven worlds you can play right now

Seven worlds made by Worldtable, open to everyone: monster hunting, a dying-sun kingdom, fae courts, pirates, a dungeon city, demon hunters and the peace after the hero. Press Play now and start.

Worldtable now has worlds of its own, open to everyone. You don't need an invite or a builder's yes: open one, press Play now, make a character and start. Your turns come out of your credits, as anywhere else, and every account starts with 50 free.

Each one is built for a different kind of fantasy fan, so pick the one that sounds like your thing.

The worlds

  • Kryvan March (monster hunting, folk horror). Villages nail their monster contracts to the shrine post and pay whoever comes back with the head. Choose silver, iron or fire before the fight, and ask why the thing came, because the answer is usually a village secret. Above the passes, vampire counts keep a hundred-year bargain with the towns, and it's starting to break.
  • Kelister (soulslike, dark fantasy). The sun is going out over a golden kingdom. The cursed wake at the last Lamp they rested by, and the stain they leave where they fell can be found again. Five great ones hold what's left of the light, and each has a reason. Feed the sun, or let it set.
  • Telora (romantasy, fae courts). Four seasonal courts sit beyond a nailed Wall, where the fae cannot lie and every bargain binds to its exact words. A mortal who can lie is worth a great deal at court. Romance is there if you want it, slow and dangerous, and never pushed on you.
  • Treva (pirates, high seas adventure). The Pirate King laughed on the scaffold that his treasure was still out there, and now every flag is sailing for it. Grow your bounty, eat a cursed pearl for one wild power (and never swim again), and see what each island's trouble is.
  • Hildyard (dungeon crawling, adventurer guilds). A boomtown on the lip of a bottomless dungeon. Take a god's mark, earn your guild plate, chalk your floor record on the wall, and cook what you kill. People from other worlds keep waking up in the deep floors; there are thousands of them and none of them are special.
  • Tokura (shonen, demon hunting, Japanese folklore). Anyone who dies with a grudge unanswered can rise as a horned demon. Join the Lantern Watch by carrying a lantern through a haunted valley until dawn. Then hunt demons with a spirit bound to your spear, and learn that a demon can also be ended by speaking its old name.
  • Frohland (cozy fantasy, after the hero). The hero killed the Demon King fifty years ago, and his statue stands in every square. His old companions are still alive, a mage exam is coming this spring, and a long road runs north through the peace he left.

Getting in

  • Go to Worlds. They're on the Worldtable Worlds shelf, and anyone new sees them first after signing in.
  • Play now on a world's card or page makes you a player there, and you go straight to making a character.
  • A character belongs to one world, so you can play several worlds with different characters.
  • Nobody dies for good in these worlds. A character who's beaten is defeated and comes to later. PvP is off, so strangers can't hurt your character.

Also on the Worlds page

  • Three shelves: My worlds, Worldtable Worlds, and Builder creations for worlds builders have made in the Studio and opened to everyone.
  • Tags on every card, so you can tell at a glance what kind of world it is. The line under each name now shows in full.

For builders

  • Open your world to everyone. In the Studio's Players tab, set Who can get in to Anyone can play right away. Anyone signed in can then join from your world's page with one click, and each player's turns come out of their own credits. If your world runs on your own AI key, that key pays instead.
  • Tag your world. The same tab has a new Tags field: up to five words, separated by commas, shown as chips on your world's card and page.
